QUALITY IS KEY SAYS MOORE STEPHENS INTERNATIONAL CHAIRMAN, RICHARD MOORE.

The Chairman of Moore Stephens International, Richard Moore, has encouraged partners and staff to make the most of tremendous opportunities over the next few years. 
 
Mr. Moore was warmly welcomed when he joined 68 Partners at the 11th MSSA Partners Conference in Clarens, where he offered some valuable insights into the network and industry.
 
Moore Stephens International is now the 10th largest global network, with more than 27,000 partners and staff in 105 countries. It has reported overall global revenues of $2.7 billion and has boosted its global revenues by seven percent.
 
But while on the rise, Mr. Moore has encouraged Partners not to rest on their laurels and to keep striving to achieve MSIL’s vision of being a leading, recognised and highly regarded international accounting and consulting network and the first choice in its chosen markets.
 
“Quality should be the key to everything we do. We need to grow in an organised way and develop an integrated approach to services and sectors,” Mr. Moore told the MSSA EXCO Meeting in Clarens – known as the Jewel of the Free State.  
 
The MSIL Chairman said he was seeing ‘enormous’ change in the industry. “We expect massive changes over the next four to five years. Client expectations are much greater than they used to be. Clients are more global and expect service levels to be maintained wherever they are doing business.”
 
While competition is tough, the industry is also wide open to opportunity.  
 
“We have the opportunity to act with some of the biggest names in the world,” he told the EXCO meeting.  
 
“There will be increasing opportunities for firms our size – partly because of the independence rules and partly because of rotation.” 
 
MSIL has expanded swiftly into China, and now has 25 offices across the country. It’s also reaching further into India and has expanded widely in Africa.
 
Mr. Moore says there are certain initiatives that will help MSIL to achieve its vision. These include targeted regional development, the development of strong firms in major centers, an integrated approach to global work, stronger brand recognition and improved communication.
 
MSIL is working very hard at boosting the Moore Stephens brand. It has appointed Milward Brown, a global brand research agency, to conduct external and internal research and find out what Moore Stephens means to member firms and clients across the world.
 
MSIL is also excited by the Moore Stephens Harvard Business School Executive Leadership Programme being held in Boston from 17 – 21 May 2015. It has encouraged Partners across countries to sign up for the course, which has been described as extremely rewarding.
 
While the global industry is facing exciting times, it’s also tough out there.
 
Mr. Moore says it’s vital to develop firms that will offer real strength in key financial centres. He said the profession was seeing continued consolidation.
 
He said mergers were causing considerable problems for global networks, while some developments were not sustainable. “We should expect more changes and more local opportunities.” He said he was particularly anticipating further change and consolidation in North America and China.
 
“MSIL has been a stable network and achieved excellent growth over the decade, but we cannot sit back. We must think and work smarter. We must work together better to become a truly global brand. We must develop our firms so that they are relevant to the network not only for today, but for what we want to achieve tomorrow.”
