George Melville qualified as a CA (SA) during 1989 at the age of 22 years, after studying at the University of Port Elizabeth (now called the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University).
He achieved the highest average mark in the Honours class as well as the highest individual mark in Accountancy and Income Tax. He completed his articles with the firm in 1991 and rejoined during 1994 after having spent two years with the South African Revenue Services on a contractual basis specializing in the implementation of VAT. He became a partner of the firm during 1996. George specializes in all types of family-owned businesses in the agricultural, property development, retail and specialist services sector.
